Produzione audio e mixing Alessandro Coronas (SRD), Mastering: Antony Ryan (DK). Registrato da Andrea Piraz in Casteddu (SRD) al ‘Solid Twin Studio'”.

MURRA [ENG]

“This evening in Urzulei the Sardinian Championships of Murra
will take place and will include players
from all part of the Mediterranean”

And I well remember when I was a kid
playing “tzaca e poni” or “nascondinu”
twenty kids playing in the street
and at eight in the evening my mother called me
We played “tapus”, we played “cursas”
there were kids, there were girls
some were playing “cuscusoni” others “pincareddu”
boys played in the country and in the city
Football game three against three
and 100 shoots to a (Fiat) 126
there was no tv, there was no Playstation
I came home dirty while mom was washing dishes
There was no need to prescribe Ritalin
we played and had fun all day
In those days there was a lot of street games
and now that I’m grown I play the murra

Refr.

Bàtaro, baranta! Chimbe so chimbanta!
this sound enchants me, other but Sardegna Canta
Batareddu! Sete sono! Trèmiu est! Ses, mudu!
when this lilting rhythm starts I do not turn off myself
Chimbe chimbanta! Sete setanta! Nove Novara! Bàteru miu!
the old man and the child play
Bàtero lassa! Duru duranta! Murra bella e bò!
the time that beats as perfect as a record that plays hip hop
The voice, the rhythm, the instinct and the attention
a game that is part of the Sardinian tradition
a game that is beautiful when it lasts longer
they shake hands and the game begins.
You play just to play, there is no money
indeed the winner must offer a drink to all
in the winter and in the summer, with the cold and the heat
come on we play, the last match ends at 21!

Refr.

The murra is illegal but you think about it instead
that are legal all those machines
who take and take and do not return the money
and there is also who is convinced to win big
My name is Dr.Drer and he is Giuanni
we go to the tournament of murra most years
My name is Giuanni and he is Dr.Drer
we play together at the tournament of Orthullè

Refr.

Bella, bella, bella, ehi! Ehi! Ehi! Ehi! (x2)
